OUR
STORY
Welcome to our page.
Action for Culture and Ethics is set to push the cause of cultural pluralism in a culturally diverse society we live in today. Ethnic communities, especially Africans have been judged and pushed to disadvantages because of lack of understanding of their cultures by professionals and service providers. There have also been substantial and avoidable human fatalities in the conscious and unconscious promotion of cultural assimilation.
Cultural Pluralism, as we know, drives positive community integration through the creation of good relationships and a more fairer and equitable society. Cultural pluralism, supported by UN Declaration on Cultural Diversity, drives the need for a culturally competent society, where professionals would be able to effectively deliver fit-for-purpose services with optimization and individuals respect and celebrate each other’s cultural uniqueness for the overall benefit of the community.
Secondly, culture is complex and evolving. The cultural evolution in one ethnic community could be faster than in the other/s and it would be wrong and counter-productive to drag those latter cultures. Attempts at this have both created conflicts between ethnic communities and damaged the valuable cultural foundation of the latter cultures, especially the family structure. Action for Culture and Ethics serves as a bridge to convey these positive changes of cultural evolution in a non-intrusive way to the affected African communities here in the UK and abroad.
Action for Culture and Ethics has therefor set up the following aims/objective:
1. Advance African culture and heritage.
2. Advocate cultural pluralism to foster positive community integration.
3. Serves as, and raise, ambassador/s for cultural revolution in a non-intrusive way both here in the UK and Abroad.
4. Support disadvantaged members of the African community through advocacy.
5. Support African Artists/Performers/Businesses.
6. Bridge the gap by representing African community voice in consultations and local discussions through various platforms.
