My family was allocated a property by a housing association after being on the list for many years but was then told that someone else was interested in the property which made me to suspect that my race as an African was being used against me because the other person is from the host community and had even failed to turn up for appointment. I contacted Action for Culture and Ethics and the case was resolved within 24 hours to my family's favour - F (Glasgow)

I got my Leave to Remain after waiting for several years and despite informing the HO of my state of destitution, NRPF was applied to my Leave which made life difficult for my children and I was scared because of the hostile environment to seek redress from the HO. In fact, I did not know how to go about it. A friend directed me to Mr Samuel at Action for Culture and Ethics and he helped in drafting a letter and told me the evidences to include. The restriction has now been removed and I've had help starting life back - R

I had a heart condition and was finding it difficult to climb stairs as I live with my family of six on a third floor, I bedroom flat. I applied for a 3-bedroom ground floor flat and after waiting for over 2 years, I was allocated a 3-bedroom flat which I accepted but the housing sent a message the following day that it was an error. I wasn't happy with this and contacted this organisation. Mr Samuel took it up with the housing association and my family and I now live in a 5-bedroom house after re-assessment. - U

My child had a shouting match with another pupil outside the school and despite the fact that the case was reported at the school, I was not informed by the school but police officers turned up at my door. I was very concerned when I was told that my child will be reported and placed on a register. I contacted Action for Culture and Ethics and was relieved to hear that the case has been dropped as it was not even supposed to get to the stage at all - Anonymous

We are a group of African women and sought help from Action from Culture and Ethics in setting up our group as a Community Association, opened an account and applied for funding to help with our volunteering cost. Thank you Mr Yerokun - R
